The Open Garden event, hosted by Lorraine and Dale Hawthorne, was a highlight of the Markethill Community Festival, drawing large crowds to admire the beautiful gardens and impressive planting displays. The Open Garden event, which ran across two days, was a great success, with many visitors enjoying the peaceful setting while supporting nominated charities NMDA Northern Ireland and Special Olympics Ireland. Special guest Lord Mayor of Armagh, Stephen Moutray, attended the event, adding to the occasion. Festival Chair Pippa Sterritt praised the hosts and community, saying, “It’s wonderful to see so many people coming together to enjoy the gardens and support such worthwhile causes.”
